Can I change the oil myself or should I have the dealer do it? Is it different than a non-hybrid car?

Oh, it's pretty easy on the Prius. I get my oil changed at the dealer but I only plan on doing that until the warranty is expired. The way I see it is if I take it to the dealer for all maintenance then if anything goes wrong they cannot ask me to prove the maintenance was done, there will be no questions asked.

Here are instructions: http://john1701a.com/prius/documents/Pr ... ng-Oil.pdf

My boyfriend (who's awesome!) changed my oil this weekend, no problem. And the filter. So now I just need to take it in to have the tires rotated. Boyfriends are the best!

It's pretty easy to rotate the tires, I do that myself twice a year (I have a set of winter tires & wheels for the winter).

Do you have a jack and two jack stands? Aside from that you just need a torque wrench (to tighten the lug nuts to 62 ft-lb in the proper order)....

If he's thinking of tackling a tire rotation let me know and I'll walk you through that.

They can be purchased for like $20 if you're interested. The lug nuts should be torqued to 76 ft-lb.
